Founded by Kirsty Whyte and Paul Tanner, creatives with previous experience at Soho House, M&S, Heal’s, Habitat and Made.com, Freedom To Exist was launched as an antidote to the over-branded and busy designs of the competitive market.

Born out of a need to create products free from fast fashion, passing trends and gender boundaries, each design is based on a classic set of core design principles and a strong minimalist foundation.

Fte is inspired by a love for the designs that make vintage watches truly iconic. A refreshingly simple, unbranded watch face with just a dot at the 12 - the only defining sign of the brand - lets the quality speak for itself. The thoughtful design process from Whyte and Tanner ensures that every detail of the heirloom quality timepiece is carefully considered and refined until it is perfected.

British designed, the Swiss Made Ronda mechanism gives the reliability and reputation of the Swiss masters. Each watch features genuine Italian leather straps - hand-picked for a soft touch - and a domed glass lense and curved case back offering a classic touch. The elliptical profile ensures a thin, elegant look that sits perfectly on any wrist or under a cuff.

We wanted to create products free from fast fashion, gender rules, passing trend and demanding technology. It turned out we weren’t alone, with men and women asking for a larger size with that same minimal detailing. We launched a successful Kickstarter campaign & the 40 Edition was born. We now have 18 products across both sizes.
